Garrett Ace 250
Probably got 4 hours total on my new Garrett Ace 250. Still hunting the first park new my house. Hunting the sandlots as it is easier to dig. Rang up Nickle but being new I dig everything. Class Ring from Palmdale High School, class of 1970. Any tips on locating the owner? Engraved with initials but no student with these initials listed on classmates.com. Probably some guy playing with his granchildren in the sandbox. I really have to say that the Ace 250 is pretty easy to learn to use.

Plenty of people will help you locate the owner. Good on you :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:

Welcome from the UK

Luck, yes. Takes skill though too. The skill is MASTERING your machine. The luck is where you are hunting. Unless you're doing research, which is a whole other matter. GREAT find. You should be proud. I don't own an Ace250, but, they are supposed to be EXCELLENT machines. Coin and jewelry monsters from what I hear. Learn your machine inside and out. Experiment & dig every signal in the beginning. You will find some awesome stuff and become a pro in no time.

Good hunt. congrats! Dig everything! That's the way to go.

Welcome to TN - WTG on that ring. I also use an Ace 250 and it will still take you a while to adjust to the machine even though it is simple to use. Practice makes perfect in this case for sure. Remember that a pull tab on your 250 is the same tone as gold, so you have to dig just in case. You will recover tons of pull tabs, but also increase your odds of getting gold. A nickle can be a nickle, or other metal. If you use the coin settings pennies and silver will have a true ring for 90% of the time. Get to know your rings!!

nice find. I would call the school and see if they have an old yearbook where they can look up the student. Most schools will try to help out.; try the guidance office! (I"m a counselor)

I agree with Cntrydncr.....Call the school. Take lots of pictures and post an update here and what you find out. Loads of Class rings have been returned to owners and/or family. Good luck and big congrats for finding it!!
