The best I can determine it is a very early U.S. Official button.

Thanks Kray! I am not real sure why it is called a device in the description when in the introductory paragraph they call it a button. I do like the RV 50 though That indicates that it is a rarity.

It shows this button is earlier than I had thought, dating it to 1802. Wow .. 😵‍💫

The historic value and rarity of your button certainly would qualify it as a banner find. I don't recall any of them being posted on here before in the 9 years I have been a member.

That's great, it still has its shank standing tall. That makes it even better. That sidewinder looks ike it needed a walk, and it sure showed its appreciation by sniffing that one out.
