???Check this out. Looks like a really long scary finger, h a h a. I think it may be a Belemnite or something similar. What do you think? IMG_20130111_192718_470-1.webp

Looks like a belemnite with a slight pathology. Need more angle though

I don't think it's a belemnite fora few reason. They are usually straighter. And have a point on the end that is better centered. Belemnites also have a fairly distinct looking structure that I don't see here. I don't know what it is though, need a better picture. I don't think it is a crynoid stem either.

I don't think it is crinoid, either. There are no sections. It is one continuous posse. Except where I glued it back together. Will upload more pics.

It looks like a rock to me. I don't see any texture or pattern that suggests it is a fossil. I could certainly be wrong, though.

I don't think it's a belemite either. What about a mud concretion?

I don't think this is a fossil at all. Probably some type of concretion.

I have never seen a rock with these characteristics. squid, being soft bodied, inside a hard shell will decompose leaving a void. If this is a rock, it its the most unusual, odd shaped one I have come across. Maybe the pics don't show the"seam" but there is a tiny ridge that looks almost like a seam that runs from tip to end. I don't know. Could be just a rock. Does anyone have any other ideas?

My judgement is that your item is not a Belemnite. I may be wrong, but is there any internal structure? The following photo's may help with identification. Notice the uniformal lines in the cross sections.

Yes, the pics help a lot. Thank you for posting them. Still pretty new to this so I appreciate all input.
