Belt Plate Found Today!!!

Painted the baby room this am and had to get out for a couple hours in the pm. The weather was just too good not to. glad i did! pulled this out of loads of scrap aluminum. sweeeeeet! my first plate of 2009. It's all there with a nice chocolate patina! Pics as dug and cleaned. Hope y'all got out and enjoyed the weather.

That's a great belt plate. Maybe a Cavalry soldier's replacement plate? The reason I say that is because sometimes those boys bent the bottom edge of their plates in a bit so they wouldn't rub or pinch them while they were on horseback. Looks like yours has a similar modification.
