From what I can gleam, Benningtons are "a dime a dozen". Just wondered if these many color varieties are the same. Came in one box. As I was rooting around in the box I also found a pee wee blue mica! (It was so covered in dust; it was difficult to spot). Anywho, the one that has me wondering the most is the brown one in the line up pic. It has these odd flat spots (about 3) around the marble. Just a messed up Bennington? Tx for your input!

Nice group! Those are painted or dyed clay marbles, not benningtons. Benningtons are glazed with "eyes" on them from where they sat next to other marbles while they were in the kiln being fired. The clay ones are very common and not worth much. Maybe a group of oddly colored ones might bring a few dollars. Your flat spots are from the same thing that the eyes on benningtons are made from.

The brown and blue ones acorss the top here are benningtons.

Gotcha! I think I confused myself because when I first started collecting, not so long ago, one thing I initially picked up was a handful of what I thought were all Benningtons. I went back and looked at them and now can see that only two are actually Benningtons and the rest are the clay like the above. Tx.
