best all around gps unit

what is the best all around gps beach/on the water unit.price is not a real consideration but rather accuracy,repeatability, mapping, downloading whatever else is needed.i'm a newbie at this but i'm trying to put a boat together for serious hunting.i live in eastern florida.thanks for any help. keegah

For a handheld unit that works for a boat too, you might want to look at the Garmin 76Cx. It's got kind of a small screen for boat use but it's light and easy to carry and it's waterproof and will float if dropped in the water. You have to buy Garmin's "Bluechart" mapping software for water navigation. If you want something bigger for mounting on the boat, Garmin also makes chart plotters and combo depth sounder/GPS units.

Well to update, it looks like Garmin just came out with a new coastal-use unit that has a nice big screen. It's called the Colorado 400c and should be a nice unit for what you described:
