thanks for moving it for me. i am new and was not sure where to place the thread. still learning. thanks also for the book information.

I use Civil War Projectiles II small arms and projectile with supplement. It's kind of pricey but very imformative. By W. Reid McKee and M.E. Mason Jr

that looks like a very nice book and yes, pricey. i may order it anyway. i want a book with plenty of detailed pics AND information about the bullets, etc. thanks!

I've got several books on field artillery and small arms but that's usually my go to book. It has very detailed descriptions and sizes of bullets. Shows rare variants and what they looked like during that period and usually indicates which side used the bullets and artillery.

thanks for your help. i am ordering this NEW. not much cheaper used and they all say shelf wear and this or that thing not perfect about it. so, new is better. i read a review on how to use the book. sounds like THE book to have. if that book cant find my bullet in the other forum, none can. lol. :notworthy:

I can't find mine right now I'm gonna run up to my parents and look there. That book has helped me id some of the most not so obvious bullets and as I don't sell any of my bullets but it does give an idea on rarity so you know what you have and that truly aren't many out there

thanks for the help. no hurry. prob wont order my copy right away. going to see if i can inter-library loan a copy down here. very possible. i wont sell my finds either, unless i unearth some modern gold ring or something that is worth a bunch. i wont sell relics though. keepers! :usflag:
