I was wondering if anyone here has ever had any dealings with reunion items like marked bullets, csn medals or presentation items? I am about certain that I have dug over 300 reunion relics in the past year and a half mostly lead everything from trinkets and pendants to silver plated copper trigger guard inscribed for a confederate navy captain along with a few other personalized items of his I just don't know if he was making all of it to take to a reunion or if they gathered here and all of this was lost during the event itself, I've been a relic hunter for over 30YRS and until a year and a half ago I never thought much about the reunion relics that are out there now they seem to be turning up everywhere I detect idk if it's a good thing or not I just can't seem to find any information about any of it so any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you all in advance and I hope everyone has a great and healthy holiday season and find all of your bucket listers very soon! There seems to be a serpent crawling up the side of the shot bullet going towards the lettering on top and the bulk that looks chewed has a 20 embossed the chew marks have been done with a certain set of pliers or something because that bullet pictured is for sell on eBay as just chewed and the same seller has several other items that have been marked for sale as well the chew marks are identical to several that I've recovered here in ms and the one pictured is supposed to have came from Antietam I believe. The cast lead dragon looking thing I found here in ms as well and that image shows up everywhere as a sea serpent I think or serpent of succession the weird looking brass thing is a ribbon holder that would pin on the front of your shirt and I think it is supposed to represent a sea going vessel but that is pure speculation I can only tell it had an attachment that reassembles something like that. I've also noticed that the word Breezers was what the csn blockade runners titled themselves as well because it is on anything that is big enough to host it. There are several things that I guess went together sort of like a puzzle that were lead cast items some look like fouled anchor or when put together makes a year and spells out csnavy, all of the lead has something either cast onto it or inscribed into it but is hard to read because of the oxidation. I did finally find the way that I think they were getting these images onto shot bullets I dug a shot bullet that has csn and 1888 and the words and numbers rise above the rifling grooves cut into it when fired and I couldn't figure out how or what the rounds would have impacted and made such clear images until I dug some soap stone pieces that were exactly the images of some of the found bullets I assume they just carved the stone to look like shot bullets and made molds then cast them but I am not positive hopefully that will be some of the information I can gain here. Sorry for the extended rant but I really haven't went and shared this whole deal with anyone I'm afraid I will be just going crazy seeing things, thank you all again!
