Careful - you're libel to rub all the value off a really nice coin.
 

Yes, you'll have squat if you keep rubbing coins. A tiny piece of dirt scratched into it can turn a $100 coin into a $10 coin.

If you’re in it for the hunt, you might as well throw them away then. It is wise to preserve the coins, and stupid to ruin them
