Today was my best day since career began 12/28/2016.
6 hours. 2 youth ball parks.

54 pennies, 17 dimes, 2 nickels, and 5 quarters. Total 78.
I won't lie, even though it is tempting, all coins are modern. Clad.
The DeLeon will find me an old coin one day, when I put the coil over one.

Also found a lawnmower key. And a tiny weenie boot that used to be connected to something. I don't know what.

Thank you guys. It's a lot of fun, but it's also a lot of work. Anytime you dig 78 holes it can be pretty exhausting. Applying heat to my old hands now. No complaints though. If it's not MD, it's pitching ball with grandson, fishing or working in yard.
Always something, and I know all of you can identify. Life is good.

Welcome to the delights you"ll find in the future. You had a great beginning.

Nice hunt!!!
And I'm sure once you get the detector over something older, you'll have it in hand.
Half the fun of the experience is the challenge of finding the area where you can find the stuff!!

The comment "weenie boot" made be think of a hunt with my D. Was checking under and around some swings and as I started to walk away, I had a signal that just didn't sound right. Not really a trash sound, nor likely a coin. Went on a few steps then decided to go back and retrieve it. Wasn't deep at all and turned out to be a small (charm bracelet size) scotty dog of .925 silver. Just shows that even on the single tone detectors one should always wonder about signals that seem odd.
