Wow!! Its amazing that its survived intact for so long. So, don't break it!

Sweet drill save. Most of them around here are pencil drills. Id be happy to find one like that.

Excellent find, they are almost always broke!

Thanks men yes that's the longest unbroken drill I've ever found !!

I have a drill fetish and that is a super find. Thanks for sharing.

I have yet to find one broken or not.

Congratulations on your find,
Sidevalve45

Thanks and keep looking you will find one !!!!!!

:icon_thumright: Congratulations! That drill is a beauty!

Nice find one of my favorite artifacts .

I just saw that Clovis you found a minute ago, That's it!No more killer finds for you:piratehand:Congratulation's on that one too man,I couldn't picture one being much nicer either.Do you think the drill is from the paleo period also?

You know it looks heat treated but so I'm gonna say no I'm getting archaic pieces off that site and transitional dalton and earlier off the other but I still found some woodland time frame pieces as well .

I was just curious of how to tell what period with a find like a drill , except for going by what was found in the same area.Like with most points, you can tell by the notching for example. So what tell-tail signs would you look for ln a drill to determine approx age?I see you mentioned heat treated.

Well most drills are sharpened down points so the base is a dead giveaway but not always heat treating as far as I know started after paleo but idk how true that is either so when it comes to drill it can be kinda difficult for me anyways ;)
