I don't always scratch my recoveries, but when I do, I'm all in

I think that counts doubleDoes this count as a scratch? Lol. I was trying to wrestle this 1739 real out of some packed in rocks and broke it in half. Amazingly I’ve never scratched a find with my digger. I dig wide and deep plugs.

They have these things now called pinpointersYou guys are scaring the bleep out of me!
Anyway I started to think I needed a thin probe. Garrett sells one of brass for about twelve bucks.
Amazon also sells brass rods any diameter cheaper and I could drill a hole in a hardwood handle if I can make the rod stay.

Most scratches occur from not pinpointing accurately with the coil and digging a wide enough plug. Also, scraping the point of your shovel across the bottom of the hole when digging (IMO)
