BEST Loop for Excal ???

Hello,

I bought my Excal about 6 years ago and started hunting again. The loop on the unit is the horse one and feel its kinda small and heavy. What would be the BEST loop to buy?

i myself like the sunray-x12- stealth, but dont think it will work in the exc. i use it on the exp.II

Since the coils are hardwired on the Minelab Excal, your stuck with what ever one came with it. You can send it in to Minelab and have a new coil installed of the size you want.

I prefer the 1000 coil for the hunting I do in fresh and saltwater. It covers a bigger footprint and goes deeper. For diving, I like the 800 loop since it has been lucky for me. Just superstition, but it works for me.

If you are going to replace the coil with a 10 inch use the tornado coil, this is the coil fitted to the latest Sovereigns it is thinner and lighter and more sensitive. If you are thinking about a bigger coil remember the bigger the coil the harder they are to push through the water. seeya Neilo
