Wow! It was a long winter last year. I did not think it would ever end, but I made up for lost time!
One of my first outings produced my first "trime", re-punched date (1 over 1851). This was one of three found in the field that day! Other great coin finds included the KGII, and a rare counterstamped 1789 1/2 reale with a IV over the III.
There were many other coins including a bunch of KGIIIs, my first Half Dime, an 1853 "O", an Irish Halfpenny and many Large Cents.

Some of my favorite finds were not coins or jewelry, although I found more gold jewelry this year than I ever did before. It was the buttons that thrilled me the most, with my best military, some nice civilian buttons such as tombacs, buttons with designs and buttons with gems, and a sporting button to round it out.
Circa 1812 Navy Button:

CW Navy Button:
Circa 1810 British Customs Button:
Some early two piece Marine Buttons:
British Royal Regiment of Artillery Button (part of a set of four found):
Fancy two piece button:
Late 1700's-Early 1800's button with gemstone:
1840's Sporting Button:
Without question, this was my best year for early personal accessories including the gold pendant circa 1840's:
This colonial copper ring:
And what is very likely my best find ever, this beautiful silver cufflink circa late 1700's.
It was definitely a great year and it will be a tough one to top!
Have a Happy New Year everyone! I am looking forward to seeing all of your great posts for 2011!!!
