Best Orange Colour Button
Found this button long ago it was totally black and just recently cleaned with Naval jelly. Found near old barn. I believe it is British button due to spelling of Colour. Has 2 little cloud or flowers with dot inside. Has anyone seen this before?Click image for larger versiName 0ED8E014-9D0C-4411-8A45-1F69590D5CAB.jpegF1899DAE-1A7B-4E4D-B6AF-83DB49F7C5E1.jpegB2C9AB95-607D-48E4-B2CF-EF4FE811705A.jpeg7E7AE18E-F2D5-40F2-B69A-4CF09C1721D6.jpegF6959AFC-ADBF-475E-9D1A-AB2058F7B8A4.jpeg

Your belief is correct. Actually, whether they have a backmark or not, the majority of brass 1-piece flatbuutons dug in the US were manufactured in Britain... because the infant US button-making industry was not capable of mass-producing them until the 1820s, just 10 years before 1-piece flatbuttons died out.

As you probably already know, the word Orange in the backmark refers to the color of this button's goldplating.

Yes, I've seen this "stretched" flower-bloom before in brass flatbutton backmarks.
