Howdy,

From a couple treks to the family place. Brown County, Tx.

It doesn't get much better than when you can share your trips afield with a grandchild. My grandson here. We were poking around on a favorite part of the farm.

There are some likely looking places up in the hills. I intend some excavating some time soon. My brother-in-law said he got the doody scared outta' him by a mountain lion in this area 20 years ago. I've never seen one hereabouts, but sure wouldn't be a big surprise. Neighbor says he has seen tracks up by the big tank.

walking the creek...a spent core and a couple of finds. I can't say what they are. Both found in the same area. The one on the right has a broken shoulder as well as the tip. This is a large point and very thin. Sure wish we could have seen what it looked like before it got all busted up.

Hope ya'll enjoyed.

Bravo you have it going on up in those bluffs. Nothing better than sharing with future generations. Looks like a good point to me and I like that core. You live in a great area and can imagine a cat up in there. You will have to shake out the snakes this summer but hope you find many more.

I bet its fund having a grand child hiking with ya. I have no grand kids yet I started the family thing late. Maybe in about 10 more yrs. You found some good ones. I like cores especially the ones like you found. Any chance of seeing it from all sides? Looks interesting with that large flake removed rite down the back of it. Thanks, rock

Nice work, good finds. Good luck hunting the rest of the area

Thanks for the comments all.

Rock, I have one other pic of that core. Here ya go.

Id call that a tool, scraper maybe a chopper depending on how big it is. It has secondary flaking on the edges. I believe it has cortex on the other end which would of been held in that section. Not a spent core. Very nice
