Nice pics. Is that Azurite, Malachite or Chryscolla??? Excuse my spelling.

is copper in arsenic iron gold all mixed together

Dan, I suggest posting this over in the Gold Prospecting
section under the "Hard Rock Mining" subforum.

Many very knowledgeable hard rock guys there.

I wouldn't crawl in there, but I don't like tight spaces like that. My very good friend was a miner & would tell stories about crawling in places like that & they got so narrow, he would then have to back his way out a great distance. Not for me, but I do enjoy your pictures.

If you decide to go ahead and mine some of this material , be sure to always have a buddy with you just in case .

Plenty of people get themselves killed doing stuff like this.

Get a part time job, you'll be better for it.

We winter in Arizona and do a lot of rockhounding, and i must say that would be a rockhounds paradise. Beautiful pictures and a lot of potential for some nice material! Be careful. My wife gets excited when I go into old mines that really should not be entered. The picture with the Azurite really looks beautiful. I know you will keep the exact location to yourself, but could you tell us what state this is in?

I have no problem going into old mines... this one especially I wanted to have a professional photographer document it...i leave nothing but footprints....... I don't take specimens. .... especially from this mine seeing how everything is loaded with arsenic..... I'm more on the side of preservation and documentation...... I'll take the risk so others can see....db
