BH discovery 1100 mode wont work

I got a discovery 1100 off of my grandfather after he passed and the mode control worked first time i turned it on, then after that i tried it other day for first time because im in a town and need to discriminate more and it worked shut if off to take a break and now will not work again?! any suggestions?

it does nothing when i hit the mode button.

Change the batteries. Also you have to hit it twice to get it to move. Could be a bad button. I have one and its about 8 years old no problems.
