I read my manual like crazy but nothing about water.

when I am on vacation at the beach or near a creek------can I submerge this coil a little bit?
I mean, can I get this thing truly wet? or will I ruin it?
so scared to put the coil etc. into the surf....just wondering?

oh ---it is BH LoneStar
thanks

nevermind

a friend from another detecting site answered my question so I am good to go.....

I use coils that are not water proof in the surf and it never seems to hurt them.....................

oh that is good to know Keppy

My friend pointed out---dummy me---that my coil is waterproof.....it says it is a waterproof coil in the manual but I just didn't see it lol

thanks for the info!

Glad you found out... I used my minelab coin search coil and it is not water proof in the water for years and i never had a problem with it .....

knowing that coils can get wet and survive open up a whole new bit of detecting for me lol

into the water I go lol

It says it is waterproof up to the box. That said, the pole will fill up with water so do not lift the coil up in the air or it will run in the box.

Ahhhh---good to know beep-beep----I will be very careful around water. i don't want to be buying a new unit any time soon. it takes alot of nickles and pennies to buy a new one haha

and I like that username lol
everyone loves the beeps

If I may suggest the coils r water proof. I bought a 10 inch coil and a 4 inch coil.. All waterproof.. BUT.. Check the seams on your coils. Some need some silicone or whatever.!

I will check the coil just in case. thanks!

mine says waterproof coil....so hopefully they did a good job on it haha

Good to point that out. I had that problem with my original 7" - screwed it and replace it with a 10"
