There were the two best axes that I bought in 2008. The big 3/4 is from Fulton Co, Il and was found in the early 1920's.
The half groove was found in the 1950's in Adams Co, Il. Both of these are extremely fine and axes and I was very greatful to get them. If you have any questions just ask.

which one there are a couple on the table

Hey Mooch nice axes. I couldn't help but notice the partially drilled bannerstone in the first pic. I know a guy that found one just like that last spring. It was made out of green hardstone and barely drilled on both ends. Half of a winged banner was also found nearby.
Again, nice ones

Hey Mooch, those are some fine looking finds. I had a real good axe year last year as well. Not too many of the monster sizes but some nice medium sized axes. I like that Keokuk and looks like it has some deep fluting and nice raised ridges. It's kind of unusual with that short of a poll on a highly developed axe.

The other one is just fantastic and I'm glad I got to play with it a little. If you get a chance bring the Keokuk to Collinsville.

Hippy
