Went out today with 2 friends. We hit some public land in the next town over. Found the cellar we were looking for but it had been picked over well. My friends got a couple buttons and I got the shotgun shells. We left there and headed up the trail. Near the top of a small hill there was a nice old field on the right that just had that "look". Level ground that had to have had some activity on it. It was surrounded by a stone wall that looked pretty old.

My friends picked up a dandy button and a couple tombacs right off the bat. I wasnt hearing a darn thing...until..I got a screaming 27/28 that was double tapping, indicating it wasnt very deep. 27/28 is usually a silver dime, and thats what I was expecting. What came out was a dark dark almost black disk. I gave it a wipe and saw the crest on the back and yelled "Reale!!" 1808 King Charles IIII, Potosi Mint. Some silvers i leave stained, other I clean. This one I decided to clean it to make for better pictures and display.

This is my second 2 reales in just over 2 months, and my 4th real total (two 1/2s and two 2's)

Also zipped down to mass to try a few parks and pulled the vintage CREED Christ Pendant with the Sterling mark. This was at the base of a large tree and was masked by some junk and iron but i heard enough of a squeek to investigate. Out of the hole it rings up 30. Weight is .503 oz troy

Beautiful 2 reale. Potosi, Bolivia mint. Big congrats.

Awesome!!! Congrats!!

Awesome Spanish silver, congrats! :occasion14:

That reale would be a dream come true for me. CONGRATS!!!

That Spanish silver is really nice. Your silver pendant just proves you have got to dig those iffy signals. They do produce a lot of junk, but sometimes you get a nice reward. Congratulations, stay safe and keep swingin.

Awesome Bucketer for me

Its very true! I was using my 15" coil to cover the large park, and after not finding much I decided to go around the trees. I was getting iron grunts, a 23 vdi then a 30s vdi all in the same spot. I recovered a memorial about 3 inches down, swung the hole again, heard mainly iron but that 30s vdi kept popping in there. I dug and dug til my pinpointer finally started to beep and the pendant emerged. Shiny as the day it was lost.

A couple of awesome finds there- Congrats!

Congrats on a great piece of Spanish silver, and that very nice looking religious pendant.

That coin is quite a beauty! I have to admit I'd probably clean it too but that one would have been really cool looking either way! Nice big Spanish Silver!!!!
