NOOOOOOOOO! Was detecting an old State Hospital here abouts. Built in 1890, torn down in '06. Got a little clad and nothing else. Was near the site of the old front entrance and got a high tone signal that was clear and loud and showed dead on the dollar mark from all scan ways and angles! Several inches down and a perfect dollar coin signal, can't be a can. Couldn't be more excited, has to be a Morgan. Dug a plug, and pulled out a big o' brown...slug? Rubbed off the dirt and could not believe it...clad dollar...A FREAKIN' CLAD DOLLAR?...the size of an old silver Dollar not a Susan B. Didn't even know they released such a thing as a full sized CLAD Dollar other than proof set version. Boy, did my heart sink quick. Silver Morgan dreams to clad brown in 2 seconds flat. Took it home and whizzed it with the Dremel tool and stainless steel cleaner, (after I Googled it and found out it wasn't the 40% silver one minted in San Fran.) Now at least I got something that looks okay on my keeper shelf. HH, and...beware...the...curse...of...the...big clad...NOOOooooooo.
