So we climb our scaffold this morning and there is a dead rabbit on it. Weird as we're about 20 feet up. We put it in a box and buried it. I leave to get a few supplies & my helper calls and says a big hawk landed on the scaffold. I told him to dig up the rabbit & put it back. He did & the hawk flew over, grabbed it and took off. This is on a roller coaster project at Sea World! Not exactly in the sticks.

Beautiful killing machine, like kitty cats of the sky, nothing gets past'um...............oh, I HATE them😎

Great shot, certainly has a set of talons.

Many years ago when we returned to the condo after a winter away, a hawk landed on the railing of the balcony.
Later that day I was cleaning up the flower pots, and in behind them there were owl scats/pellets.

We were chatting with a bird specialist from Parks Canada, and I mentioned this, and he said they travel, land, hunt the same routes usually.
Hawks are the dayshift, Owls are on the midnight shift.

I'm actually surprised the hawk came back for the rabbit after seeing it missing.

It kept flying around from one end of the scaffold to the other. Once they put the rabbit back it grabbed it and flew off. No idea why it dropped it up there.
