I'm making this post on behalf of Damnails and myself. We have exclusive permission to hunt a site that was the home place of his great grandfather and grandfather, maybe even further back. We have hunted this site once before for a couple hours and he's been back once. We only hunted for a few hours today. This place has no structures left and is just a few piles of rock and some old road beds. Our goal is to find some personal items that we can connect to the family. This site is absolutely loaded with Iron and it will take some work but we've been through that and know what it takes. We will go back from time to time and work it. As we clean this site the good stuff should start to turn up. Here are some of our finds from today. These finds will stay with the family so I'm showing them combined.
Best for today was a gold plated pocket watch door, suspender clip and what we think is a pommel from a saddle. It is brass and we are not sure. Welcome any feedback. And lots and lots of iron. Thanks for looking. uploadfromtaptalk1465072731303.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1465072737055.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1465072743401.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1465072748325.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1465072752899.jpg

That's a Great thing y'all are doing.

A few good finds already popping up, you know how to do it , Clear out the "Large" & smaller Iron & Can tops Jar lids then hopefully y'all can get some old coins, jewelry, anything personal, & a few Surprises......& y'all know the Sniper Coil Rap (so to speak).

Other than the Iron the Humidity & Heat will /Should be your greatest Challenges.

Looks like you guys are already getting into some late 19th century stuff...Sounds like allot of work but looks like a good place. Just a wild guess on the pommel, maybe a cane topper? Hope you guys find those personal relics you are looking for, something with initials would be awesome. keep cool & HH.
