I dug this beautiful spur at a “hunted out”
Confederate camp. It was underneath a piece of iron, which is heavy at that site. It was recovered three feet away from a CSA I dug there a few years ago.
It’s a different kind of detecting where you dig iron for 8 hours, pulling out stove parts, & tons of nails from a Civil War blacksmith shop plus a 1930’s house site. I also dug a small lock plate/hammer, and a few other items.
Please chime in with ID on spur, as I couldn’t find it in any reference books.
Thanks for looking.

I got a cavalry site that has a ton of large iron sections, maybe I should do what you did and see what's underneath

definitely 👍. motivation for us is that 20 CSA’s have been recovered in the buckle field. 😊
