These items were found yesterday at the very top of a finished its job privy hole.
Can you help me age these items so I can figure out the last use time roughly.

The cylinder looking thing has copper somethings on the ends.
It weighs about five pounds and is about six inches long or so.

Piece of a Ball Mason jar and a piece of stoneware jug I'm assuming.

This makes five outhouse holes that I have found on my property.
Is that considered a lot for an area inhabited since 1845 ?

Dry cells were invented in the 1860s , so after that for sure. if you can find the bottom of the blue canning jar you can date it by the logo.
as far as having so many outhouse holes , well they do fill up in time and not just with poo as you well know.
