hooked up with a few other hunters for a Mass. saltwater hunt
beach off a old fort site - we all got musketballs - one guy got 2 old golds
plymouthian's gal got a small gold - best I could muster was a Franklin silver half which was down bout
a foot and half
lots of good treasure stories, smiles and laughs - looking forward to some more friendly hunts like this
I got like 5 different calib. of balls - think largest are .69

Congrats on a great hunt! LOTS of old stuff!! As for the Franklin half, I'd love to find my 1st silver half! Congrats!

That's a bunch of balls C2. Congrats on the Franklin.

Glad that you all had fun.

Congrats on the silver half,,
You got a lot of balls, lol

this is from when we first entered - taken by my gal
I'm on left heading for deeper water - (plymouthian) Kent is on the right - (Bluetube1000) Ron to his left
and Mary in the wet sand.

Wow awesome hunt..

Congrats on the big silver and other finds. Looks like a great day.

Oy, the elusive Plymouthonian! What a group!

Great set of roundballs. I wonder what the heck was going on there - duck hunting?!

off to right out of frame is a Rev War fort right on the water - small force of British in row boats from large ship in bay
tried to attack from water but small force of rebels spread out and fired and made it seem there was a larger force manning the fort and the red coats turned back before getting to shore
some could have been from them - think they fired at birds - possibly seals back then and probably just target practice or messing around
it was remanned in War of 1812 and again in CIVIL War - Ron found a 3 ringer - ive gotten at least a dozen over last few yrs

I'd be psyched finding all those musket balls !! They're a part of this countries history fighting for independence, some detectorists pay no mind to finding them but I think they're a great find. Nice big silver also! Congrats and HH

NOW THAT TAKES SOME BALLS . NEET .

Very nice picture and congrats on the silver. I think I have found my share of musket balls also. Drives you crazy when looking for gold!

Looks like the religious medal is silver, any of the other two coins (I think!) silver?

I find them at spots all over new England - but at least these are associated with a fort
no other silver this trip
because waters were so calm - we were able to get way out at low and reason for the amount of balls (plus I was in all metal and they had PI machines so we were getting max depth and pulling some up from 2 feet down)
- the other 2 guys got like 16 a piece and Ron got a minie ball - 3 ringer
