As I had Cru'Sis visiting, I had to stay close to home & do a solo hunt. I decided to do the field I had scouted for 45 mins, because I had found a scrappy hammered & I hoped for a better one. After gridding that area for 2 hours without any older signs I tried gridding another patch near where I found a Tudor Button, but nothing.
After lunch I tried a over-grown grass & weed field for the first time. It was next to a good Roman/Celtic area & I was pretty hopefully until 1.5 hours later when I had dug no good signs.
So, not a great day for older stuff, but I kept the silver streak alive;
18th C Silver Button Back
Lead Token
Silver Thimble (had the top of it when I scouted)
1880 3 Pence
1921 Half-Crown (This is actually a very rare find for me)
