Big silver ring with stone

Wasn't expecting this today, but I'll take it. Was hunting a school ball field and got a solid quarter signal. This popped out at about 6". Any idea on age based upon the markings. Inside band says 925 JR MEXICO.

That's a cool and unusual looking ring...looks like a tiger eye. Have no idea of the date but kinda gives me the feeling of the 60's...dunno why, just does! Congrats on a great find!
