Luckily I was able to convince Todd Lipe to take me on one of his "guaranteed to find silver" hunts. The dude has a silver compass, it's awesome, the red end of the needle points toward silver. I have never seen anything like it.

The weather was nice, so we headed out early in the morning. We hit a couple of spots without much luck. Then we hit one of Todd's super secret spots, and right out of the shoot, I get a '48 Rosie. The spot also yielded some wheaties, including 1914 & 1917 and a '43 war nickel (OD's favorite).

I also found a small play money coin, made out of copper. It says "Uncle Sam Play Cent" on it and is dated 1949. I tried and tried to make a half dime out of it, but no such luck. I also scored some Tootsies.

I was feeling good about the day, but little did I know that Todd had saved the best for last. We hit one of his permissions, a nice big old brick house. As I worked the yard next to the driveway, I got a nice high signal, just like all of the other high signals that had been nothing but junk! I dug down about 4" and there she was... a big thick chunky girl... I recognized her immediately, Miss Walker!

Thanks to Todd for taking me on a really sweet hunt.

Thanks for looking and best of luck on your hunts!

That was a super hunt you have dug there. As of late Walkers have been scarcer than hens teeth in my neighborhood.Keep up the good work.

Thanks Cjon! That nickel is uncommonly shiny, I wish that I knew someone who could give me more info on it.

As for the silver compass, you have to talk to Todd Lipe. He will not give me any info on it. I have seen it, but never gotten to touch it. I think he got it from some old guy at the thrift store. :dontknow:

Great finds Tom man that half is Sweet. Hope Todd had some good finds too. It must be nice to find Silver but then again it is the CSM. I think OD has had plenty of experience of looking at shining Nickels maybe he could give more info on yours.

Very nice hunt. 2 half dollars in the last few weeks for you. Must be nice! :)

Thanks BR2019. I was quite lucky to get two halves in the last three weeks. Thanks for noticing! GL out there!

Nice going Tom. Does Ms Walker have a sister? She sure is a looker. Much better than that weird nickel.

Sweet hunt with some Great finds and a Walker, Awesome!! I think I missed you other Walker, Congrats man!!

I got one big silver but, I still don't know what a dirty Walker looks like. Lol

Yay Tom! You have a great friend there in Todd, I am sure he was just as happy as you with your finds. In a world of anorexic and NPM (non precious metal) coins, the chunky silver girl is a keeper! Sub 8-)

Great hunt, Tom! I wanted to badly to get out yesterday but got stuck at home with the foster kids.

It's always nice to see that your digging keepers South of the Mason Dixon line. Nice fist full of keepers, and who doesn't like a toosie toy or 2? Congrats on the great day of hunting. :occasion14:

Thanks Sub. Todd is a great guy. He acted happy when I found that Walker, if the roles had been reversed, I can guarantee you that I would not have been as gracious as he was. I am certain that when the finds tide shifts, I will be singing the blues!

Congrats awesome finds! Your walker is the same date as the war nickel.

So Todd is the "silver whisperer"?

HEY TOM LOOKS LIKE THE WALKER LADY CANT FIGURE OUT WHAT RIDE TO TAKE. GUESS SHE WILL HAVE TO TAKE THE JEEP NOT ENOUGH ROOM IN THE OTHER FOR JEFFERSON AND LINCOLN....... BUT THEN AGAIN THEY MAY HAVE TO WALK.
