It poured here for a couple of days, flooding in the streets, water everywhere, the news showing cars in flooded areas and more.
When it stopped I went to a few areas I have hunted forever and where nothing good has shown up in a long time hoping that hunting these sites would yield treasure that just might show themselves in dirt I have hunted so many times before but have never been as soaked as it is now.
Ya know what...they shockingly did.
A wheaties in the teens came out of a lawn I have hunted more than 100 times in the last 3 years.
Then a nickel signal that I never got before was not a buff or a war nickel Like I hoped but it was a 1889 V nickel.
I was thrilled.
I walked last that house into a park I have hunted again more than 100 times because it is 1/2 block from my house and found a few more wheats in the 30's and 40's and then I get another nickel signal...A second V pops up, 1912 on that one.
I was shocked.
Walked through the park to another home that backs up to this park and get a copper cent signal in the Nox and dug it mostly because I cleaned out this property for the last 3 years so any new decent signal is rare.
Turns out to be an 1882 beautiful green IH...yea the Nox upaveraged this one a bit in my red clay mineralized devil dirt with intense iron infestation but it was solid so it got dug.
Now I'm into the 1800's twice on one hunt, this never happens to me around here.
Luck was with me so I walk back into my neighborhood and over to the next block and successfully get permission to hunt a new to me corner lot home.
I was tired so I didn't spend a lot of time there but I just walked around a bit just to scope things out and planned on coming back another day.
I dug 4 signals, a zincoln, a piece of trash, a 1978 quarter and then...a freaking beautiful Walker!
Can't complain about one of the better coin hunts I have ever had.
Except for the Walker all the other great old coins showed up because my very challenging dirt was wetter than ever before.
I know that's true for sure.
Whatever it takes to get the treasure is perfectly fine for me.
