Decided to hit a construction site at lunchtime today. I had already dug quite a few memorial pennies and started heading back to the truck. Got a signal that rocked my ears...last find of the day...sweet! It is a silver 1867 Emperador Maximiliano 1 peso. It looks to be the size of a silver dollar...but thicker.

Those are awesome finds Keith! What a cool large silver coin. What is the history of the area you located them in if you don't mind me asking?

Congrats Keith, that's a display piece.

The area along the bayfront...up on top of the bluff has been occupied during the Texas Revolution and during the Civil War. North Beach is the best...and hardest area to hunt for finding some good finds. There are some fields that are open to hunt but there is modern trash all over the site and the ground is hard as concrete....but....I have a few buttons that have made it worthwhile.

Hey TEXAN C...no april fools...took them to our club meeting tonight. I can't wait for next year to see if there is a repeat!

Now THIS was the April fools joke I sent out to everyone!!! I loved it when I got back 1 that asked...Is that REAL!!! :tongue3:

Jeez bud, why not share on todays finds, thats sweet

If those buttons are real I find myself asking why I live in a state where it is closer to drive to california then it is to drive down there to find my Republic of Texas buttons.

Awesome! Can't wait :) I have copied some old Corpus photos that you might find interesting. Be sure the package has a return address and I will send them along. Was the silver from the area where you found the bottle, or somewhere else? Congrats!

It was found the next block over towards downtown. We haven't found anything military besides clothing weights...but they haven't started scraping yet...THAT is when the things will be popping out of the ground!

Keep me updated on what you find! What are they tearing down now?
