I'm thinking about getting the Bigfoot coil for my White's MXT. I hunt mainly inland freshwater beaches and of course my primary interest is gold jewelry. Does anyone use the Bigfoot with an MXT for beach hunting and if so I would appreciate your comments.

I now have the standard 9.5 concentric coil and a 6x10 Eclipse DD, primarily I use the DD.

I use the Tesoro Clean Sweep coil sometimes on the Tiger Shark. It is just like the Bigfoot coil. It covers a huge piece of ground per sweep, but expect only about 7 inches of depth on a dime. At least that is what I commonly get on most beaches. However now if you really want to cover some ground and deep too, use a 15" coil on a Excal or Sovereign GT.

I use the bigfoot on my DFX great coil I love mine. Got a crack in mine where the epoxy was on it and water got in it. Sent it to be repaired and the customer service with applied technologies was a nightmare. less than a year old and a $75 repair fee and took several weeks to get it back when i mailed it nextday they had told me less than a week. Great coil hope you never have a problem with it though.

Bigfoot on old Eagle

I use a Bigfoot on an older Eagle (SL'90). It works great, but it has a problem with some major masking in trashy areas. I think the adventage of covering ALL the ground ahead of you is the greatest thing about it, though! It's also lighter than the stock 9.5" coil and does not flip-flop around. This can be a problem, since the "wings" that connect the coil to the stem take alot of strain and I had to beef up the epoxy on mine. I wouldn't use anything else on the beach.
