:help: I really want both, but i only can afford one. its either the 9x12 coil for my ace 250 or a propointer? i dont know which one would be a better accesory for me to have. by the way, i like coinshooting in old parks and yards. :dontknow:

The bigger coil would not be that great in those old parks where there is a lot of trash. The propointer will save you lots of time in the recovery of any targets and allow you to not have to dig so many plugs. Any dirt removed from a hole should be placed on a cloth so coins won't get lost in the grass and all the dirt can be placed back in the hole. Time saved means more sweeps per day.

Now that's an EASY answer....get the propointer!!! It drastically cuts down on the time it takes to get the coin out of the dirt clod or ground and...since you're retrieving FASTER you're hunting more and getting more targets. Getting more targets = $$$ that you can save up for the coil of your choice.

I hunt with both the ACE 250 and a Vaquero. When my wife goes with me she actually enjoys the digging (and...the keeping of the rings!). I find the target and place a colored bamboo skewer on the target and move on. She moves from skewer to skewer...sometimes there's so many skewers that she could use some help. I've been saving up for a salt water detector (Sand Shark) but I just spent part of the savings (from redeemed clad) to get a SECOND Garrett Propointer. Now, I can help my wife dig...and just as important....I have a backup propointer when one of them breaks! That's how important having one (or better yet, 2) of those propointers is! It's not really a question of whether they'll eventually break...mine is used almost daily for several hours and has held up but...it's just a matter of time. I hate the thought of sending it in for repairs and waiting (and waiting) for it's return.
