Stumbled upon this ...dump site. Two old cars that I cannot I.D. One is 40ish something....and the other has gotta be from the 20s??????? Not sure on that one. Had the wooden frame. Anyway, there are old cans, broken glass and pottery just everywhere.... thought I found a homestead, not sure... just a few old oak boards laying in an area. I did find a good campsite. Worth further investigating??? Also found a few old...either cone-top beer cans or cans of brake fluid...not sure. Any thoughts? Thanks for lookin!

I thought it had the FoMoCo look and guessed at 1942 Mercury. After checking a bit, it's actually the post-war version 1946-8, but probably 1946/7 Mercury.

Interesting that the top has been removed. Possibly to help with a chopped top of another late forties Ford/Mercury.

Here's what it used to look like. Hard to believe....

Yep Merc. Someone chopped the roof for a project I bet. I'd love to make something from the bullet holed fender.

Yes, I've often felt like doing that to my Ford. I was gonna say it looked like a '46 Holesmobile.

The first car is a Hudson. Last date manufactured 1954. Monty

Nice work on the cars fellers. I couldn't recognize them in that condition, However in the last picture I believe you have two beer cans from the 40's...Unless they are brake fluid cans. You should have fun digging up old ammo brass and assorted other goodies including coins if that site has been used for overnight camping. Oh yes great pictures ,Sodapop.

Plehbah....YOU ARE CORRECT! South of Grand Junction near Uravan...or what used to be Uravan. Now it is all gone due to the uranium...however in them there hills lies hidden treasures! Well, maybe I will venture back with my detector. The prospects of finding wheats and mercs around that camp area sounds appealing! Thanks to all for the car I.D.s Hit me up if anyone in the area wants to go......
