I never really thought about it but thats probably right. My Mother's name is Vada (vey-duh) and there is a town Nevada, MO. thats pronounced (neh-vey-duh).

I was under the impression that Nevada was from a Spanish word. And I didn't realize that there was a long "A" sound in Spanish. I thought all a's were pronounced "ah". I guess the legislators must have figured that it was time to teach us proper Spanish pronunciation.

still confuses the heck out of me.

I say Nevada with a "ah" like "Ma & Pa" Kettle

I'v heard Nevada like ah.. like Hat

I'v never heard Nevada pronounced aaa like hay.

It still confuses me why they need a bill created
to say it the way you talk

If somone pronounces pennsylvania

Pencil-Voh -neee-aaa :thumbsup: ("a" like hay) that's their beeeeesnes

Some people call a Cow a Kow

Some call a Cow a KA

a Ka still looks like this

Navida as in "Feliz Navidad"
