I took GypsyHeart's Blueberry Surprise recipe and turned it into a decadent Bing Cherry Surprise (along with her help). Also, since I'm a Type II diabetic, I made it sugar-free.
Here's the sugar-free recipe. If you want the leaded version, just substitute cherries for blueberries in Gypsy's recipe.
Servings: 8
Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Start to finish: 1 hour
Notes: This can be topped with some light cream.
This recipe was adapted from a recipe submitted by Gypsy Heart on Treasure Net. Her recipe was "Blueberry Surprise".

4 Cups Bing cherries, Pitted and halved
3/4 Cup Splenda
1/3 Cup Butter, Softened
1 Teaspoon Butter, Softened
1/3 Cup Splenda Brown Sugar
1/3 Cup Unbleached all purpose flour
1 Teaspoon Baking soda
1 Teaspoon Baking powder
3/4 Cup Old fashioned rolled oats
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Butter an 8- or 9- square or round pan (1 teaspoon of butter).
3. Place the cherries in a bowl and sprinkle the Splenda over them; mixing well. Pour mixture into pan and spread evenly.
4. In a mixing bowl, cream the remaining butter and the Splenda brown sugar.
5. Stir in the oats, flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
6. Spread the topping evenly over the cherries; place in oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top turns golden brown.
7. Serve warm.
