For several years now during the winter months we have had Cooper Hawks coming to dinner so to speak and this late this morning I got a chance to photograph this one in our Apple Tree above one of the feeders.
The shot was taken thru a double pane glass window, so some distortion, but at a distance of approx. 40 feet not too bad of a photograph, using my Canon S3IS at 12X Optical Zoom.

Last year I had one fly into our window and he sat dazed below on my patio for about an hour before he eventually flew away.

That photo would make National Geographic proud .

Very good pic!

I snapped one of an Osprey (possibly) dining on a Mourning Dove near my feeders. But, it was cheap cam with no zoom... not really worth posting.

hawks and falcons are buetifull birds.and btw have you ever considered wildlife photography?ud be great.i try

Hey, that's better than the one in my Audubon's field guide! :)

I'd be very proud to call that picture my own Don! No window can stop that canon now can it? I got the full moon through the window this morning, I think it came out pretty dang good. I'll download this afternoon to make sure.

Are you going to frame that one? I would for sure!
