My friend had a pile of dirt leftover from a home renovation dig and she let me take a few things home. It was a known Native American settlement. I am used to finding scrapers, points, awls, & clubs in my area, but some of these are unusual. All but 2 (birdstone preform at top & the shiny point/blade with the penny) are very smooth as if handled extensively. Some also lack a clear purpose and remind me of birdheads. The red one that is pictured 3X has a deep groove as if for hafting purposes and I wonder if it could have been a ceremonial spear that is shaped as a birdhead. What do you think?

They are natural broken rocks. Have you looked at any artifacts posted here on Tnet?

Sorry, they are all broken rocks not artifacts, your making the mistake a lot of new hunters make and letting your imagination see things that are not there like shapes that clouds can make.

I am confident that they aren't broken rocks as there are signs of scraping and chipping, though I did make the mistake of asking about birdstones, when I should have said effigies. I tried to take better pictures, but I will try to ask the town archeologist to get a reality check.

driveway gravel is all I see.

Agreed. No evidence of being worked.

Sorry, have to agree with the others. Natural rocks.

Yep all natural check out the North American Indian artifact forum in this site it may help you out

Good to ask opinions but gotta be able to be open to them to learn I'm sure there are some artifacts in that area just gotta do some research on what to look for. I hope you find some and post them. Tommy

consider what Native peoples were actually able to make, the skill and attention, the perfection of form and function....then consider your rocks.
