Hit the beach in Wildwood today with a friend. Wasn't expecting much. But I wanted to hunt an area between a couple piers where I had found a mercury dime a couple months ago. If Surfdigger is reading this, he'll know the spot where we ran into him the last time we were there. The sand was wet and hard, but the amount of good targets I was getting made the tough digging worthwile. Even so, several coins were found laying right on top of the sand.

Altogether, I found $3.80 in clad, including a Kennedy half. These coins were in the rock tumbler for 3 hours. That's why they're so bright and shiney.

I also found this silver roosy (1947) and a 1949 wheat penny.

Also found 10 memorial pennies and these three arcade tokens.

All things considered, a pretty good day.

Hi Bob.....nice finds.....the beach is pretty sanded in and that is alot better than most of us are doing down here ! Anyway....yes I do remember that spot....was Jerry hunting with you? Hopefully he was able to stay focused on the area long enough to dig some coins too :walk:....only kidding.....It is really blowing here as I type this.....the mini-Nor'easter here should last for about 24 hours....just enough to open some holes around here.....maybe I'll run into you in my travels....HH....Cya at the Xmas party at the club.....Brian

Yo Brian,

Yea, Jerry was with me. He's got his own way of hunting and he's hard to get out of it. But he read about a bicycle shop in Stone Harbor that also deals in White's detectors. So we went over there to check it out. White's has a new detector (Prism 6T) that has a Beach program built into it. It's supposed to eliminate salt/black sand interference. That's what Jerry is looking for.

Thanks for the tip about the mini Nor'easter. Maybe I'll take another ride down to AC this week.

I won't be at the Christmas party. I'll be skiing in Utah that week. Best early season ski conditions in the U.S. Have a good time.

Bob
