Found this pistol at a local shop. Handmade in 1960 by the wrighting inside the handle. Trying to figure out what it was made from I can't find a match. It's a 58 cal smooth bore with no markings.

Looks like it may have been cut down from another gun. How is the barrel affixed to the receiver?

Doesn't look like it has much of a breech plug in it.If you plan on firing it I'd check it out first.Start with light loads too.

I'd take it to a reputable gunsmith before I touched it off. That thing is probably over 100 years old and not made for modern powder. Good luck.

yeah it is made from another gun, yes not a great job, i will start with light loads but going to shot it. im just trying to find out what kind of gun it was made from. believe barrel is original just cut down.

Box lock shotgun, mid 1800’s or a replica, it looks crudely made, I wouldnt hold it first time firing it. Have your local gunsmith have a look and suggest a load
