Continuing on the property where they blasted an old building. We come to find this one was under the asphalt parking area that was stripped. Most of the pit was coal ash and everything made its way through the ash to settle in a thick use layer. Uncovered a tall Chicago whiskey from Samual Myers. A first for us. Nice embossing. Found a few local meds as well. A Kilmers as well as a stack of common saxleiners bitterquilles. The pit was loaded with perfumes of all kinds. So figure it was a lady that lived here. A couple of tooled crown beers. And a scalp and hair food. Another first for us.
Don was in the pit and uncovered a really nice amber target ball from Bogardus patented 1877. How this survived the drop is crazy. Never dug a whole one before. Pretty cool. A pile of slicks later and some coffee pots completed the hot day.
Did some probing and found another pit to try tomorrow. Hoping for some more keepers. Be safe out there y’all. Jgas.

Not to dismiss the other greats , I'd have screamed to find an intact target ball.
Read accounts of thier being filled with a variety of things.

Always wondered if some Christmas tree round ball shaped decorations were not a result.
I could see a tree decorated with empty target balls anyways! L.o.l..

Great score on that whisky and ball. Amazing how that thing survived all these years
