Don't see these too often and not too much talk about them so I figured I would share one that I found in Henry County Alabama in a field. It's 2 1/4 by 1. These are extremely rare, this maybe the only one I have found even though I have some artifacts I've found in the same area that I question of being a type 2. Even though it's a little beat up, I was very happy with this one.

Nice point! That bulb type base is as dead give away for Boggy Branch. I saw 2 a guy found in Wakulla County. They were serrated on the edges. Thanks for sharing.

Rare bird indeed. The orange blush on the base adds a nice touch, too. Thanks for sharing that one with us.

Good point! Never seen one before!!

Nice one. The material is definitely getting closer to the coast. Great save and a treasured one for sure.

That's a beauty! Congrats!

I dug a site here in east tx that had a culture that made points just like that. We called them axtell but I have never been really comfortable with that. The were the same horizon as golondrina and heavily ground. Cool item.

Those are few and far between down here as well. I think I've got four since I started hunting in 1977. I've never been lucky enough to get one out of the Flint River but, I've seen a few found there that were gorgeous.

Hey GaRebel, feel free to post any pictures of the ones you have. It would be cool to see them.

I've always wondered about this one, found in the same field. 2 7/8 by 1 3/8.

I'm going to go with saying this is another Boggy Branch.
