Hi everyone. GREAT day today!! I almost didn't go out today. Glad I did. Finds From last Saturday were 7 wheats and a cool old key. Monday I ended up with just under a buck in clad, a BSA neckerchief slide, and a smashed, melted pendant that might be gold plated. Brought both the Ace and the E-Trac out today. Started tot lotting; after it got crowded, I headed to a park where PS and I have hunted in the past. Ended up staying the day. Noteworthy finds included my first SLQ (full date 1929); '61d Roosie, '37 merc, '93 Canadian cent (not pictured), retailers occupation tax token (another first for me), .925 mortarboard pendant (graduation present?), '42 Jefferson nickel (as hard as I tried, no mint mark above Monticello :(), American flag pin, copper chain, old timey faucet handle, and, maybe the best find of all, a fully intact (with complete shank) Chicago city police button with most of its gilt still intact ;D !! Back mark is Waterbury Mfg. Co. Scoville, NY. Anyone know how old it might be? I also tied my all time one day high of 10 wheats (all '40s-'50s). Clad total is unknown (still gotta clean it all), but probably somewhere in the $3-$5 range. Man I'm tired....back at it again tomorrow...zzzzzzzzzz...pics below. 'Nite everyone.

nice finds, congrats on all the silver.

Sweet SLQ.....

Congratulations Paul on a great day of hunting.

Way to pull some more silver out of that little place

That SLQ is sweet looking and congratulations on it being your first. Looks like a seated or bust quarter is next for you.

My favorite find though is that button. Based on 5 minutes of research using google images and if the information in the link below is true, it appears to be turn of the century. Based on the link below the City of Chicago switched the position of the Indian and the ship on its seal around 1906. Looks like your Indian is on the left which would make your button prior to 1906 if the City Police force also changed their buttons based on the new city seal. Also saw a few like yours on ebay for around $10

Jason- nope. The Ace has been relegated to tot lot duty. This particular park requires the depth and separation capabilities of the E-Trac. ALL goodies were found with the E-Trac.

Wow!!! :o Great finds!!!

I picked up an identical CCP button in a private yard in 2009. I've got it in my shadowbox display. I agree with Patrick. It's a darn good find!

Love the silver, too! :)
