My youngest son is 8 and my oldest is 15 going on 50. I'm at work today and the boyz got board and got out the old fisher and hit some places in our yard, there used to be a house on the property. The first target was found by my younger boy, with some help from his brother they dug up this button. A little while later my oldest text me a pic of these captains bars. I don't know the storey on the bars yet. I can't wait to get home tomorrow and get the whole storey.

tell the boys congrats on their finds

Well I got home this morning and got the "whole" story. It seems as though my youngest son found the targets and my oldest helped pinpoint and dig them up. After a closer look they definately found the back of a button there is writing on it but I can't quite make it out. The military pin is a set of Captains bars (not quite silver and not quite brass?).
Just to give everybody an idea of where they were hunting, we live in culpeper Va and on my property there used to be an old house. I have found various stuff and every time I think I found everything something else pops up. Like dcooper said recently "it's never hunted out". Case and point, today I was looking for the front of the button my boys found yesterday and did'nt find it, however, I did find two bullets. I'm pretty sure they are dropped pistol bullets.
In this day and age of computors and video games I am so glad my boys would rather be outside.........

Very nice JC. Tell your boys "congrats" for me.

JC the bullets were really cool. I'd like to get a better look at those though. The phone pic was pretty grainy. I did do some diggin today and found a horseshoe in the back yard along with a bunch of old nails...there was something going on in that area. Hopefully I'll turn up something worth keepin...
