It appears the folks guessing Col. Sanders had the Kentucky and Colonel part correct. I didn't realize that a "Kentucky Colonel" was a thing, beyond the KFC portrayal, so I found this interesting: Those Pre-Pro Whiskey Men!: The Kentucky Thompsons: Shrinking the Glenmore Colonel
