Those are both druggist/pharmacist bottles. I would think they held some type of compounded powder. That could have been a tooth powder, a woman's "remedy" or a child's cough cure.
They aren't worth more than 25 cents or so, but they might turn a light purple in your window.
What they ARE is an indication of additional bottles and relics in that location. IF he can get back in there and can do so without fear of getting in trouble (it is NOT worth it), it could be interesting. Most folks never have the opportunity to get in a place like that.

by far not an expert, but I agree with GD.

Common bottles; drug, pharmacy.
May not be worth much but they are old
and neat finds. Old bottles that did not get
broken or melted down from a dump.

Fill em up with water and add some alka seltzer or denture cleaner and let them sit ivernight.They might clean up a little better.Cool bottles.Your right,look like early 20th century at least. :)
