Found this at an old foundation I found in a local park. Along with lots of square nails. Any ideas as to what it is? I had to keep my finger on it to keep it from falling over.

The item is a 20th century flag holder that would fasten to a wall. The opposing side braces are to prevent breakage from side wind pressure exerted from the flag. The downward torque applied from a bottle when you open it would eventually bend this piece.
