This at our place. Lovely trees but super messy. Start losing their leaves coming towards summer for 8 weeks, then grow flowers that last for 8 weeks and continue to drop over that time so 4 months of mess. Bees love the flowers though!

Hi, yeah, they store moisture in those trunks to get through the hot dry periods.
I do like them, beautiful trees, just wish they had a self clean up mechanism built in 😂

I had a large pecan tree in my backyard. It was the messiest tree ever. And it only produced good pecans once in 30 yrs. I paid a pro to take it down and he ground the stump. I milled it into slabs and it’s stickered in my barn drying. No more mess!

We have a few messy trees in our yard & sometimes I regret planting them. Whenever they're in full bloom and making a flowery canopy in the back yard it's worth it.
