Those dealers only put a decent coin in their "unsearched rolls" once in a while. Trust me there is no thing such as unsearched.

Looks like you did pretty well.

I think you got lucky, really. Anyone that writes "unsearched" on ebay is looking to scam an unsuspecting collector.

I just got another roll from the same seller, again got 4 indians heads and 4 zinc. This time oldest indian is 1892.

Nah i think i'm done with him now. His rolls used to be cheap, but now he his more known on ebay and you cannot buy them for cheap anymore. First one i bought was 5$, last one 8$, now all his rolls go for 10-12$ too much for me.

Don't you mean 4 steel pennies? Those are all 1943 pennies, not post '81 pennies.

Zinc plated steel

Ah, okay. Never heard anyone refer to them as zinc. Cool! I learned something today! :)

Yeah, helps prevent corrosion.

I used to know a dealer that would sell "unsearched rolls." After I found out the trick we kinda stopped talking. I don't much like people who dupe others. Here is the recipe for your rolls that have been "sealed" for 50+ years.

3 to 5 of these - https://www.mintproducts.com/low-grade-indian-cent-rolls.html
+ 2 to 4 of these - https://www.mintproducts.com/circulated-1943-steel-cent-rolls.html
+ the rest of these - https://www.mintproducts.com/terrific-wheat-cent-bags-choose-from-four-sizes.html
+ a twist with one of these - Twist-N-Crimp*-*Preformed Coin Wrappers*-*Coin Wrappers*-*Coin Storage*-*Wizard Coin Supply
= a genuine "un-searched" cent shotgun roll

(As a disclaimer: Do not try and make these to sell them....Its really pretty low)

Very interesting. Don't know if that's what he does, anyway like i said in my previous message, i stop buying from him but if you look on ebay you'll find lots of supposedly "unsearched" penny rolls and they sell good.

That seems like a lot of effort just to package up some rolls and sell on ebay even if you can move them at a premium.

Sounds like a great idea to me! I hate being duped too, but it makes me smarter everytime. I don't hate those who scam, it's all part of the game. Like the kid I used to deliver pizzas to who actually got had by a three card monte scheme on the side of a city gas station. What can I say!
